OVERVIEW

 

The Computer Science Department of the New Jersey Institute of Technology is proud to host the second annual, 2005 NJIT High School Programming Contest.  The contest brings talented students from high schools throughout New Jersey to the NJIT campus to participate in a programming competition. Each high school can enter one team of up to 3 students. Each team will demonstrate their programming skills and problem-solving abilities by attempting to solve a number of programming problems.  There is no cost to enter the contest.

 

 

                                                                                                                PRIZES

 

Prizes will be awarded to each of the top 3 winning high schools and to members of each of these teams.

 

First-Place Team

The high school will be given a $500 cash award.  Also, each member of the team will receive either a $4,000 prize applicable to freshman-year tuition at NJIT* or a $400 cash award.

Each of the three members of the First-Place Team will also receive an IBM PDA

Second-Place Team The high school will be given a $300 cash award.  Also, each member of the team will receive either a $2,000 prize applicable to freshman-year tuition at NJIT* or a $200 cash award.
Third-Place Team

The high school will be given a $200 cash award.  Also, each member of the team will receive either a $1,000 prize applicable to freshman-year tuition at NJIT* or a $100 cash award.

 

Also, top high schools that compete in the contest will receive 2 copies of Java or C++ textbooks (as available)..  

 

* Receipt of the prize as a tuition award requires that the student be admitted as a freshman and enroll at NJIT in the fall semester immediately after graduating from high school.
